But that didn't have much to do with dev...

Going into that job, I knew it was only temporary. Both because I didn't want to spend my life being a tech janitor and because yet agian, this was a levy sponsored job and North Idaho just isn't super IT focused. So my wife and I took a good long look at what it was we really wanted to do. We settled on her being a graphic designer and learning CSS and me doing PHP. We wanted to start a grand adventure, so we took that leap and started our own web design firm, Digital Sinapi.

We scraped by for a few years, but some things we didn't expect quickly became prevelant. Being developers and designers is a long ways away from running a company. We also didn't have kids when we went into this adventure, but towards the end, our tiny house had begun filling up. Trying to run a startup on my own, with only the two of us, and support a family with virtually no seed money makes life difficult. Working sun up to sun down, no days off... Up hill both ways, barefoot with a baked Idaho potato in my pocket to keep me warm and be my lunch.  What's the point of having a family if you can't be with them? Not to mention the fact that running my own business is not something I was passionate about. In fact, I hated it. I wanted to build websites!
